We have a strict NO return policy. There are valid reasons for this. Early on a few individuals ordered the outlines and then demanded their money back from the author. One such individual later wrote that he had copied them to his computer before asking for the return of his money. He later sent the author a check for even more than the cost, and asked for forgiveness. He suggested that the author should have a 'no return policy' because it was just too easy for those lacking ethics to take advantage and that the outlines were worth more than the price he was asking.
In discussing this with the author he stated that he had a number of others who suggested the same thing. Therefore, in cooperation with the author, we have adopted this policy. There is no way we can know if a person is trying to defraud and this just makes good business sense.
The Alliterated Bible is the author's retirement and we are trying to look after his interests. We are sorry if this causes you any hardship. A NOTE TO POTENTIAL PURCHASERS: The Alliterated Bible was written for you and with you in mind. You are the only group who will be purchasing it. So, before you write him asking for a discount remember that there was almost 30 years of work involved in putting The Alliterated Bible together.
RECEIPT OF PRODUCT: Payment must be made before the product ships. When using the payment plan, the author, initially against our advice, has made it his policy to ship the product as soon as the first payment clears. This opens him up to losing money and product when the credit card is declined for the 2nd and or 3rd payments. This has happened a number of times, but the author believes that most Pastor are honest and will continue this practice. We, however, (this marketing firm) will look after his interests by pursuing those who default on payment with proper legal action. That is part of what he pays us for. His reasoning for shipping the product before full payment is that Pastors do not make a lot of money and a payment plan makes it easier for them to afford this product. We had to concur.
PRICING: The price of The Alliterated Bible is based on two primary things:
(a) Normally, the cost of a product is based on similar products. Since there is not another product on the market like The Alliterated Bible the cost was evaluated in consideration of what the targeted market can handle.
(b) Not having any competition to speak of, we used Microsoft and other unique products as guidelines for establishing a price. As with most unique products the costs run high at first and then stabilize alongside similar other products that appear on the market. Our decision to approach the author to take over the marketing was based on a unique process of surveys. We came away confident that we do not expect to see much if any competition in this area for years to come. [ABO Marketing]
